Summers End

Hi everyone,

Time seems to be getting away from me these days. It has been quite awhile since I have posted and I have to say that I truly miss blogging and visiting all of you that have been so kind to visit me. As I have said before, I am a bit hesitant to post as I am always waiting for inspiration to hit me! So this morning, I went out my door into my yard and of course there was inspiration everywhere! I managed to find a few of summer's roses, morning glories and hydrangeas still determined to bloom and not willing to give in to the seasons change. I found that to be an inspiration in itself.

A Touch of Marie

Hi everyone!
I just wish there were more hours in a day! I am sure you all do too! I have been working on this painting for a very dear customer for quite sometime and finally finished! I just wish I could speed up the drying process!! I have to say it was such a joy to work on this piece, but let me ask you, is it still summer?? I don't think I have had a moment in the sun this season. Well, I guess I will have to make up for it next summer! I truly adored working on this painting! A slight touch of Marie Antoinette and lots of soft pale colors. This piece goes along with the desk set that I posted a while ago. I am very behind on my blogging and just wish I could catch up with everyhing! Until then, I hope you enjoy!
Hugs,
Debi

Painting Pink Again!

Hi everyone! I am really trying to post more often but I have been working 24/7.! I guess that is a good thing? I have visited so many of your wonderful blogs , still have more to go! I have to say, I feel a bit intimidated.!!You are all so creative, witty and have such wonderful things to post! When I finally sit down to post something, I go blank! Maybe it is my age or I am working too hard! !So instead of waiting for something that hits me ( which has been too long) I'd like to share a few pieces with you that I really enjoyed painting. So, back to painting pink and what fun it is as always! Ouu lal la, had allot of fun with Paris Hats and shoes! A bit of Marie Antoinette, don't you just love her clothes! The desk set was also really enjoyable to create as all pieces had to be different yet work together as a set.
Well, I will keep trying to come up with something that is interesting to post!

Hope you enjoyl Be back soon!

Hugs,

Debi

Thank you!

Hi everyone! First I want to thank Penny from Lavender Hill Studio for introducing me on her blog! It was such a sweet thing for my new friend to do for me, and again I can't thank her enough! After posting my " Finally Published", I woke up the next morning to find so many wonderful comments, I felt like a kid on Christmas morning! So my second thank you goes to everyone who left a comment and visited me. I am so looking forward to reading each and every one of your blogs. I only wish I could do it all in one day, but actually, I am getting glasses tomorrow and will make reading on the computer for a long period of time so much easier! I have been working in cyber space for so long, that at times can get very lonely, so I am thrilled to have so many people to visit! I will be seeing you all soon. Thank you so much for your kind words and praise.

I am looking forwad to getting to know all of you!
Have a great night!

Finally Published!

A bit of a change from pink roses, but fun none the less. I am so excited! Six years ago I illustrated " How Mice became Small" by Zev Lewinson and finally it is being published! It is in it's marketing stage right now, soon to follow with the final publication . Zev's magical story made illustrating an exiting adventure for me and a true labor of love.Looking at the red head in the illustration reminded me of what a long process this has all been, but in the end, it is worth it! By the way, the red head is my son Matthew, who yesterday got his drivers license! That is scary!!"How Mice became Small" is a wonderful story for all ages and with a moral too, which is pretty hard to find in children's books today.I have just started illustrating my second book although I can't say what it is, but it is another advneture I am looking forward to. Lets hope this one doesn't take so long!. I hope you enjoy taking a peek at a few pictures from the book! Thanks so much for visiting!

My Inspiration

For the love of roses I made this slide show beloow to give my husband credit and thank him for being such an inspiration to me. All these beautiful roses that are in my slide show come from his garden . Always a wonderful work in progress! Michael's talent is only surpased by his love for nature. So once again I would like to thank him for filling my mind and my pallet with such beauty and incredible inspiration!

As I am learing my way around computers, I had such a great time putting together my favorite photgraphs that I have taken, the only problem is that the slide show was supposed to be on the bottom of my page! Oh dear! Once I think I know what I am doing, I wind up doing the opposite! In any event, I hope you enjoy it!
Hope to see you all soon!

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe I have not been on my blog for so long! Life has certainly thrown more than it's share of family challenges my way and have kept me away from sitting down and writting! Now finally over the hump and hopefully on to the brightside of life, I wanted to say hi to everyone! I have been working 24/7 and sometimes wonder if I don't paint in my sleep! I thought I would share some of the pieces I have been working on. I have had some lovely cusotmers that have given me the oportunity to create some fun pieces. Sorry, not pink, but in blue which was a lovely pallet to work in and other colors as well.
I hope you are all well and enjoying the summer! See you all soon!
Have a wonderful day!

My husband lost his job right befoe the holidays, so I have been burning the midnight oil! Here are few of my new pieces. The Antique window is available on my webiste http://www.debicoules.com/. The other piece was a Blackksmith's tote, for carring his horseshoes and other parafinalia. Made a great magazine holder! I wonder what he would say if he saw it now??! Pink horshoes, now that is an idea! I hope you are all enjoying life! Thanks for visiting, better get back to work!

Something in Black

Hi everyone!
Blogland is a very place for me considering that I am technically impaired when it comes to the computer, but am trying my best! I thought I would share this with you today. I just love pink, I know we all do, but this piece came to me from a customer that wanted something in black! It was really exciting to work on a different color pallet for the moment! The trunk was in mint condition and seemed to travel back and forth from New Jersey to West Palm Beach Florida. Funny, when you look at the travel stickers you start imagining the person who owned it and why they were going away? Well, West Palm Beach surely had to be for fun in the sun! It broke my heart to take the sitckers off, but that is what the customer wanted. So, here it is.
Something in Black! Thank so much for stopping by!
